Examples

Origin
This term has been in use since at least 1738, and it refers to Biblical Job. He had three so-called friends, who tried to console him while telling him that his sorrowful situation was due to his own disobedience to God, so he said: "I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all" (Job, 16:2)
